Full Job Description

To undertake the role of SCPHN Community Practice Educator for students completing the SCPHN registration programme and for pre-registered students for the speciality they are to be competent in.
To support the service to adhere to the NMC standards for pre and post registration programmes. To support the development of and ensure the quality of Practice Supervisors.
To positively promote educational standards within Young Greenwich School Nursing through the provision of a consistent, person-centred approach to education, training and assessment.
To provide clinical expertise and resource for clinical teams, including (pre/post registered nurses) students and to provide expert advice and leadership for the development, innovation, and implementation of evidence-based services to children young people and their families. The post holder will be expected to hold a clinical case load part of whole time equivalent.
The SCPHN Community Practice Educator role will be expected to adhere to a high level of experience and excellent knowledge of their speciality area and be able to work with minimal supervision., To monitor and manage SCPHN and pre-registered nursing students (including apprentice on placement with the service) to ensure their learning opportunities enable them to meet the NMC competencies and standards- (incl "Standards of proficiency for Specialist Community Public Health Nurses" in partnership with accredited universities)., + Supervise practice supervisors and provide support for SCPHN/pre-registered nursing students.
+ Offer clinical and safeguarding supervision to nursing students.
+ Coordinate a preceptorship program for newly qualified SCPHNs.
+ Liaise with universities and the Trust's Education Team for student support.
+ Collaborate with managers to ensure an optimal learning environment and resource access.
+ Promote and support quality service models in line with commissioned requirements.
+ Assist in training delivery and service development to enhance clinical competence.
+ Identify and assess children and families in need, coordinating care with relevant agencies.
+ Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and attend case conferences and reviews.
+ Lead the Healthy Child Programme, assessing and mitigating risks for children.
+ Maintain compliance with Key Performance Indicators for service delivery.
+ Oversee clinical delivery quality, including record-keeping and adherence to guidelines.
+ Lead audits, develop action plans, and contribute to policy and guideline development.
+ Adhere to professional codes of conduct and Trust policies.
+ Regularly travel across Greenwich for meetings, training, and service support.
