Full Job Description

To undertake the role of care co-coordinator in the assessment, development and delivery of package of care to people experiencing first episode or suspected first episode psychosis. Working as part of the multi disciplinary team you will work with individuals and their families or carers providing support, education, family work and evidence-based interventions aimed towards promoting recovery. You will work with people aged between 18 and 65 years in a service which aims to work with other agencies including primary care to raise awareness of psychosis and to reduce the length of time people remain untreated.
To supervise, instruct and teach junior and unqualified staff and student nurses
To undertake duties designed to extend clinical and managerial expertise as delegated by the manager when required.
Ensure care is carried out effectively within a multidisciplinary framework and in collaboration with other agencies. Maintain contact with clients on their caseload during periods of admission, including regular attendance on the ward. To take lead in the planning and implementation of the client's re-integration back into the community.

The Barnet Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service is currently seeking to recruit experienced and enthusiastic Community Mental Health Nurse to join the team based in Barnet, North London. Working within this area of mental health care for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis can be very exciting and rewarding.
This is a well established, high performing team delivering compassionate care in the community to adults who suffer from first episode of psychosis. You will be working in a team that is diverse in background, highly motivated, friendly, agile, flexible and responsive.
The post holder will carry a defined caseload and will work closely with other members of the team, including Psychologists, Medical professionals, Social Workers, Nurses other Health & Allied professionals to ensure that the best quality of care is provided.
This work will be underpinned by a bio psycho-social model of care and the post holder will ensure that best practice psycho-social interventions are offered wherever possible within their skill set in the person specification.
You will have extensive knowledge/experience of working with people experiencing psychosis and be fully up to-date with current philosophies of practice, inclusive of National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and EIP guidelines.
