Full Job Description
The Shaftesury Integrated Community Rehab Team are looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant to work within their Multidisciplinary team, based at The Westminster Memorial Hospital in Shaftesbury. We are a small, friendly team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Rehabilitation Assistants and a Team Administrator. We work as a team to provide rehabilitation to the over 18yr old population within North Dorset. There is one full time post available to support the team.
We are a hard working and dynamic team, that are committed to providing high quality care and rehabilitation to the residents within the Shaftesbury and Gillingham area through integrated and collaborative ways of working in conjunction with our colleagues within the Primary and Social Care sectors.
The Integrated Community Rehabilitation Team is a multi-disciplinary team offering therapy to a wide range of people within their home environments to prevent avoidable hospital admissions and facilitate earlier hospital discharge as well as in-reaching onto the wards. It is essential that you have experience of rehabilitation or a caring role, as well as having good verbal, written and team working skills. You will need to be flexible in your approach and confident to work alone. Basic IT skills and NVQ level 2/3 would be advantageous.
Responsibilities will require you to work mainly under supervision of the clinicians within the team, but also to work autonomously within your competencies. You will need to have the ability to drive a car as you will be required to visit patients in their own homes and other community settings.
In return for your enthusiasm and commitment, we can provide an environment for you to develop your clinical skills and experience with regular supervision and appraisals. You will be supported through training to help achieve your competencies.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
