Full Job Description

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service is currently recruiting for the post of a Part time Community Safety Advisor; the role of the post holder will be to help make Lancashire a safer community through promoting and advising on community fire safety and the wider determinants of health and wellbeing.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate an ability to support and communicate with vulnerable people living in the community, plus the ability to undertake a range of practical activities including the fitting of fire alarms.

It is also essential that applicants have a problem-solving approach to completing tasks and can work on their own initiative. Community Safety Advisors deliver training packages to groups of people, so applicants must have the ability to present information to small groups.

A driving licence and the availability of a suitable vehicle for business use are also essential.

This post is subject to a Standard check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The post may be subject to DBS Enhanced check via the Disclosure and Barring Service and any post holder who undertakes regulated activity may also be subject to an additional Barred List check.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 9 October 2024 . The interview process will involve a short presentation.
