Full Job Description

Working as part of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop and extend your clinical knowledge and experience by working across a range of clinical settings; develop extensive clinical assessment and case management skills in areas such as hospital avoidance, managing long term conditions, wound management, end of life care and to plan and deliver complex care plans.

We are looking to appoint highly motivated Community Staff Nurses to join our District Nursing Teams who have a passion for delivering safe, high-quality care to patients in the community setting.

Mid Yorkshire has now officially been granted teaching status by the Department of Health and Social Care. This is in recognition of our track record in providing high quality teaching and education to ensure our clinical workforce is skilled and equipped to support the needs of our local population. As a Trust, we are committed to the development of our staff and there will be an expectation that you continue to develop your professional portfolio whilst in our employment. Adult Community Services has an excellent Practice Education team which will work closely with you to support your development. We believe in being a fair employer and take great pride in equally valuing our staff and patient experience.

We provide care and support to over half a million people in Wakefield and Kirklees in their homes, in community settings and across our three hospital sites at Pontefract, Dewsbury and Pinderfields (in Wakefield).

Always striving for excellence, we are at the forefront of innovation and research and we invest in teaching and the development of our workforce.

We live by our values of caring, improving, being respectful and maintaining high standards. We listen and learn because we aim to make Mid Yorkshire the best place to work and the best place to receive care.

We have a clear vision, and you could be part of this! If you share our values and you want to make a difference to the lives of our patients and their families and carers, we would love to hear from you.
