Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Families' Health and Wellbeing (FHWS) 0-19 Service delivering public health services to children and families across Staffordshire. We have a 30 hours a week permanent vacancy for a Band 5 Community Staff Nurse based in the Burton team. This is a development post whereby there may be an opportunity for future development/secondment to complete the SCPHN HV/SN course. The Burton FHWS 0-19 team were shortlisted for the Team award for Maximising Excellence at Work in 2024, which is a measure of how well the team works together to ensure the service model is delivered to a high standard., The Families' Health and Wellbeing Service (0-19) in Staffordshire offers an integrated, flexible and family focused service providing high quality, compassionate, personalised support and care to Children and Young People. As a registered nurse, you will be part of a team delivering the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme for a varied, unique and diverse population, in a supportive skill mix team, working closely with our partner agencies across health, social care and the local authority. The successful applicant will need to work to the service specification and demonstrate the trust values at all times. You will be expected to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all aspects of child development, safeguarding and will carryout some aspects of the mandated contacts of the service model.

  • Competent in infant feeding & nutrition and starting solid food.
  • Competent in assessment of child development.
  • Competent in public health advice delivery - home safety, vaccinations, dental care, safe sleep, behaviour.
  • Assessment of maternal mental health and referral onwards.
  • Knowledge and competence in safeguarding and child protection.
  • Knowledge of enuresis and child continence/constipation.
