Full Job Description
An exciting secondment opportunity for a Community Team Manager has arisen with the South Adult Community Mental Health Team, based at Gateway House.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team for a period of 6 months. This role includes providing clinical and operational leadership to the Team, including line management responsibilities, and ensuring effective governance processes. You will be responsible for ensuring effective service delivery and contributing to the overall development of our service and clinical practice., Key Challenges
Safety Requirements: Risks for Meridian House (Risk Register Reference 2092 & 2093) mean 2 Business Support staff are required. Incase of incident 1 staff member must be available to support, with a 2nd for additional support while meeting service user needs on site.
Staffing Shortage: The current vacancy impacts service delivery for CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) and Youth Teams. Business Support at Herbert Matthes (Northgate Hospital) are required to travel to Meridian House, reducing Team capacity on site.
Capacity Issues: Insufficient Business Support at Meridian House means Clinical Team members step in, reducing appointments available and increasing wait times.
Service Delivery: Shortage of Business Support affects service delivery, causing operational difficulties. This increases delays in communication to Young People, lack of timely response to telephone queries and untimely data entries.
Staff Wellbeing: The current arrangement impacts wellbeing of both Business Support and Clinical staff.
Conclusion:
The current arrangement is unsustainable due to impact on service delivery, clinical capacity and staff Wellbeing. Meridian House cannot operate five days a week. Reduced opening times increase the wait for Young People in Lowestoft or forces them to travel to Great Yarmouth (at Trust cost). This also impacts time needed for attending appointments, risking increase in unattended appointments or Young People not being brought., Management
