Full Job Description
This is a fee earning role and you will be responsible for running your own case load of cases which have been dropped from the OIC/MOJ portals due to complexity or potential value. Your caseload will comprise a mixture of liability admitted and denied cases, with potential to be of significant value. You will run the file from inception right through to settlement, either being dropped from the OIC/MOJ portals or by sending a letter of claim. You will also have the opportunity to issue Part 8 proceedings.
You will always act in the best interests of your client, advancing the case proactively to a positive outcome for our client. You will be responsible for investigating liability, offering excellent client care and ensuring that all aspects of the client's injuries and losses are maximised. Injuries may range from general orthopaedic injuries and often your claims will have multiple medical experts instructed to include neurological, ENT and/or fibromyalgia injuries. Investigations into financial losses can often require detailed and specialist advice, and may range from employed loss of earnings, self-employed losses to on-going treatment or care needs, amongst others. Don't worry if you've not dealt with these losses before as you will have training alongside TM support and guidance.
As the team sit within the SIT & Complex department, you will have opportunities to work closely with the Serious Injuries Team, often investigating and building a claim towards potential high settlement (ie over £25,000) at which point the claim will be transferred to SIT. You will have the opportunity to grow and develop through close links with solicitors and learn from their mentoring and buddying schemes. There will also be opportunities to shadow members of that Team on significant and catastrophic Multi-Track cases, attending conferences, hearings and settlement meetings.
Previous Case Handling experience of running a Personal Injury claim and being able to review medical reports and value claims using JC Guidelines and case law is essential. Dealing with the OIC, MOJ Portal, or having experience of Part 8 claims would also be beneficial. Client care skills are key.
The Complex department deals with road traffic accident claims up to £25,000. The team also deal with the firm's Fatality, Bankruptcy and Capacity claims, all of which require exceptional levels of client care, technicality and sensitivity. Exceptional client care skills are therefore highly desirable., At Admiral, we are proud to be a diverse business where we put our people and customers first.
