Full Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Compliance Assessor to join our Fire and Security team, based in Banbury. You will be working in a team primarily carrying out fire risk assessments and also assisting in carrying out secondary inspections of pre and post remedial works for the full portfolio of properties, ensuring high standards of safety are maintained. This will be a balance of site and home working. Our Compliance team are responsible for managing compliance responsibilities consisting of fire risk assessments to ensure properties comply with legislation with our priority being the safety of our residents. The role of Compliance Assessor will include:

  • Undertaking of fire risk assessments, audits, inspections and surveys in line with organisational policies and procedures
  • Produce and maintain reports/documentation for fire risk assessment specifications, with the ability to demonstrate inspections and remedial actions meet KPIs
  • Coordinate, communicate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery
  • Raise awareness of fire risks and promote fire safety measures, Sanctuary Group encourages and welcomes applications from people from diverse backgrounds to support our commitment to offering an inclusive environment for our employees and customers.
  • We work closely with the Home Office in order to prevent unlawful working. A basic Disclosure and Barring Service check will be necessary in the event of a successful application which we will pay for. Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited is a subsidiary of Sanctuary Housing Association, an exempt charity.

  • To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to Level 4 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment, or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role such as Fire Risk Surveyor, Fire Risk Assessor or Fire Safety Officer
  • Proven track record of conducting fire risk assessments ideally gained in the social housing or construction sector (or similar)
  • Some knowledge of Fire regulations including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, legislation and current and good practice
  • Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

  • Role salary is £33,192 with an additional policy allowance of £4,998 per annum (rising to £34,939 with an additional policy allowance of £5,261 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
  • If qualified to FPA Level 4 role salary is £33,192 with an additional policy allowance of £10,877 per annum (rising to £34,939 with an additional policy allowance of £11,449 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
