Full Job Description

There is an exciting opportunity to join the UK Compliance Governance & Operations team as a Compliance Advisor. This team provides Governance and Reporting support, coordinating UK Compliance department-wide activity and reporting to the business, our Regional and Group Compliance colleagues and the FCA. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to varied Compliance and Governance topics and would suit someone looking to develop a career in the second line. As a Compliance Advisor, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key Compliance controls, systems, reporting, governance and oversight activities. You will get involved in technical, regulatory, detailed and routine Compliance reporting and quality-checking tasks to support your colleagues within Compliance fulfilling their strategic goals of acting as trusted advisors and executing flawlessly to support the UK businesses. You will be an ambassador for the Code of Conduct, championing regulatory discipline and providing useful insight to the business on compliance risks, supported by high-quality written and analytical outputs.   • Perform monthly breach data quality checking on Salesforce, communicating clear feedback to Breach Specialists, the Governance Manager community, and inputting to Board, Committee and Regional Compliance reporting.
  • Train to become the UK Compliance COSMOS Champion. COSMOS is the Group Compliance global reporting tool and you will be responsible for:-
  • + Delivery of regular progress updates on the Annual Compliance Plan to Regional and Group Compliance, meeting data quality KPI's. + Supporting the Compliance Leadership Team in drafting the Yearly Annual Plan in line with Group Compliance methodology. + Attending COSMOS Champion calls, updating UK versions of COSMOS guides and procedures and sharing outputs with the UK Compliance team. + Adding High rated incidents to COSMOS, ensuring alignment with Salesforce and RACE and liaising with colleagues in UK Risk and First line to achieve data accuracy and timely resolution.
  • Support the:
  • G&O team manage the bi annual Compliance Risk Assessment process.
  • UK Compliance reporting to Regional Compliance and UK Execs.
  • Operation of the SMCR Framework and associated processes including action tracking, database and mailbox monitoring.
  • Maintenance of the UK Compliance library of local policies, standards and guidelines (including any exemptions) in accordance with Group Policy on Policy Governance (GPoPG) requirements, including maintaining the internal and business facing sharepoints, supporting policy implementations and coordinating annual reviews.
  • Implementation of an effective governance framework for UK Compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, preparing supporting papers and governance artefacts.
  • Collaborate with the wider G&O team to ensure the team's deliverables are met.

    The Governance & Operations team is critical in supporting Zurich's UK-regulated entities to deliver on their FCA reporting, their board and governance committee reporting and their Regional and Group Compliance reporting commitments. The ability to meet deadlines and deliver on time and quality repeatedly is key. Rigour, self-discipline, initiative, patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure are required to succeed in this role., The ability to analyse complex/large data sets and create clear, insightful reporting with good presentation skills is essential. This includes the ability to query and interpret data quantitatively and qualitatively against prescribed rules and standards to conclude whether the required standards were met.
  • Also the ability to communicate clearly to the stakeholders (both in Compliance and in the business) who need to understand how the standards are being/need to be, applied in practice.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is very desirable, e.g. but non-exhaustive list, Risk, Audit, Compliance, Controls, DP, Financial Crime, Finance, Governance, Co Sec, Analyst, Ops Developer type role.
  • Broad knowledge of the UK regulatory environment for insurance and/or the Zurich Group governance framework would be an advantage.
  • Excellent Excel skills are essential. MS List experience would be desirable.
  • Good report writing skills.
