Full Job Description

The Position: Applications are invited for a Compliance Officer to cover the requirements of this role across all three ReFood sites within the UK (based at Doncaster, Dagenham and Widnes). The successful candidate can be based at any of the three sites with travel required to other sites, when needed. This is a permanent, full-time position. The working hours will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. As a Compliance Officer your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company's requirements but will include:

  • Documentation management and review, including but not limited to COSHH, Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures and Toolbox Talks.
  • Setting and achieving key performance indicators, alongside regular reporting to senior site managers/teams and directors, including analysis of incident and near miss data, identifying route causes and preventative actions.
  • Liaising with other department managers to ensure compliance, health and safety and best practice.
  • Regular auditing of site processes and procedures ensuring they are adhered to across the businesses.
  • Organising quarterly health and safety meetings with team members to communicate and resolve issues within the businesses.
  • Monitor compliance within relevant departments, including Transport, Operations, Engineering and Commercial.
  • Carry out gap analysis and implement, review and revise risk assessments, as required.
  • Complete a review and standardisation process in relation to SOP's.
  • Carry out relevant training on relevant procedures/risk assessments or associated topics in house.
  • Effectively communicate/ implement new legislation to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Contribution to IS045001 implementation and leadership of assigned tasks associated with this project.
  • Implementation of a continuous improvement culture in relation to H&S and compliance.
  • Monitor daily KPI's & analyse trends, producing management reports, as required.
  • Research, procurement and implementation of an appropriate software system for H&S.
  • Pas110 and Environmental support for internal/external audits and ensuring document control procedures and maintained., Documentation management and review, including but not limited to COSHH, Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures and Toolbox Talks.

    The successful candidate will be qualified in IOSH and NEBOSH.
  • Good standard of formal education, including GCSE Maths and English (Grade A - C) or equivalent.
  • Level 5 CMI management qualification and/or a lean/continuous improvement qualification is desirable.
  • Has a good understanding of Occupational Health & Safety in the Manufacturing Industry.
  • Previous experience of auditing against ISO 45001 accreditations.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, at all levels.
  • Must be self-motivated and driven, with the ability to make decisions at an appropriate level.
  • Have the ability to work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines, prioritising workload to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must hold a valid clean, Full UK Driving Licence for UK travel.
