Full Job Description
Working in the Asset Management team of Warwick District Council, this role is a significant point of reference for our clients and customers in relation to the regulatory compliance of our retained housing stock and corporate assets.
As a Compliance Officer you'll be working as part of a dedicated team overseeing the management and administration of the Council's contracts pertaining to the 'Big Six' areas of building safety compliance as well as a variety of smaller related contracts, ensuring that correct contractual procedures and practices are followed in order to maintain contractual and fiscal control, including:
The review and maintenance of key contractual documentation e.g. risk registers, programmes of work and certification.
The review and management of contractor performance ensuring Key Performance Indicators are accurately measured to enhance service delivery.
Maintaining records to ensure that a clear, auditable record of actions and payments is maintained.
The preparation, negotiation, agreement, processing and audit of valuations, interim applications for payment and final accounts
The organisation and effective conduct of progress and performance meetings and the production of meeting minutes.
Candidates will be educated to degree level or equivalent, or with significant experience of contract administration in the building maintenance/construction industry and a minimum level 2 qualification in at least one of the 'Big Six' compliance disciplines. In this case, either Fire Safety or Water Hygiene (Legionella) Management. Candidates will also have a sound understanding of housing repair standards and legislation, (Decent Homes Standards, HHSRS).
Relevant health and safety qualifications, e.g. NEBOSH/IOSH or other specialist qualifications such as P405 Managing Asbestos in buildings, or VRQ L4 Diploma in Asset & Building Management Compliance would be highly desirable.
The intention is for the postholder to work predominately from home however, it is a requirement to attend our offices or sites within Warwick District as required. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate. However, office and hybrid working are also available.
