Full Job Description

For our Group Compliance division in London we are looking to hire a: Compliance Officer (Development & Solutions), London Your role in the team: The Development & Solutions('DS') Compliance team at Berenberg forms part of the bank's Group Compliance department. Team members are located in the bank's Hamburg, Frankfurt and London offices. The DS team supports the wider Group Compliance department, leading various important projects within the department including implementation of new software and systems, automatisation and digitisation of processes, reporting and working closely with stakeholders across the wider Bank such as IT. This role, based in London, reports into the Head of DS Compliance in Frankfurt and also works closely with Group Compliance members in London and Hamburg, with involvement in general Compliance monitoring tasks. This role offers the chance to be part of a dynamic team within a creative and supportive environment, involving an exciting area of responsibility with future-oriented technology such as RPA and no/low-code solutions. What will you do?

  • Leading DS Compliance projects, including provision of regular updates and management reporting to relevant stakeholders, liaising with internal stakeholders across the Bank including IT, Legal, Data Protection
  • Undertaking Compliance Management Reporting
  • Conducting monitoring and trade surveillance - including ad hoc investigations, as required - as part of the firm's compliance monitoring programme (CMP), and assist in developing the CMP
  • Assisting in the implementation and updating of policies and procedures
  • Providing compliance support to employees in the London branch, working together with Group Compliance team members in London, including oversight of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime process and maintaining the FCA Directory
  • Communication between business and IT-teams

    Professional experience in a Compliance role based in financial services, or comparable position (minimum 3 to 5 years)
  • Knowledge and experience of UK and European securities regulation including MiFID II
  • Project management experience, direct experience of implementing new systems desirable
  • Commitment to an in-office culture with regular face-to-face stakeholder engagement
  • Degree educated, or equivalent
  • Broad, analytical and strategic thinking
  • Interest in process improvement to drive business performance
  • Ability to work well in a cross-border team and independently, using own initiative
  • Ability to work well in a high-pressure environment, with strong prioritising skills
  • Hands-on attitude, with a flexible approach
  • Organised and self-motivated
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
