Full Job Description

A forward-thinking secondary school in the dynamic borough of Lambeth is seeking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to join their innovative department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025. The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Computer Science across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and inspire students to develop their computational thinking, programming skills, and digital literacy.
  • Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, problem-solving, and collaborative learning.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including programming languages, software applications, and hardware, to enhance students' learning experiences.
  • Collaborating with colleagues within the Computer Science department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to technology education.

    A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Computer Science curriculum.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for computer science.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
