Full Job Description

You will deliver a high quality, cost effective & responsive concierge service and contribute to the quality and health and safety of the environment by becoming a champion for our customers taking responsibility for making our estates and communal areas a great place to live. Take pride in the area you work and engage with residents so as to really understand the best way to maintain communal living spaces. You will be confident in undertaking concierge services duties, usually as part of a team but often organising your own work and looking after a particular area.

You must be able to work flexibly, undertaking shift hours working 48hrs per week as per rota. This will also include weekend, day or night shift

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • The ability to communicate effectively with residents, contractors and other stakeholders.

  • Health and Safety Legislation (including fire safety) relating to concierge services and estate cleaning.

  • Personal safety & lone working practices.

  • Accurate record keeping., Provide an excellent customer focused Concierge and Block Security service for all residents and visitors to the blocks within your estate.

  • Be proactive in enhancing the security of the blocks and taking all appropriate steps to create a clean, safe environment for residents and visitors (includes concierge office).

  • Monitor and maintain the CCTV system within the block and to assist other members of staff or authorised agencies when access is required to recorded images.

  • Inspect the block for faults, repairs/defects, health & safety and report these, monitoring through to completion (including CCTV system).

  • Undertake daily cleaning duties to your office area and if necessary during patrol

  • Undertake general health and safety checks, including identify trip hazards etc.

  • Complete all daily tasks as detailed in concierge schedules and complete the required tick sheets

  • Provide an excellent customer focused Concierge and Block Security service for all residents and visitors to the blocks within your estate.

  • Be proactive in enhancing the security of the blocks and taking all appropriate steps to create a clean, safe environment for residents and visitors (includes concierge office).

  • Wear the Riverside uniform and the relevant protective clothing / equipment.

  • Provide effective security presence, working with colleagues as necessary for personal safety.

  • Ensure all information displayed is appropriate, current & authorised (includes concierge office).

  • Maintain accurate records of non-resident visitors, annual courtesy visits, health and safety (accident book), observations and intelligence.

  • Adhere to and attend all of Riverside's internal policies and procedures training (must achieve pass mark).

  • Comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 (all employees of Riverside will not disclose or make use of, for their private advantage, any information held on manual or computer records, which are not available to the public, however acquired

  • Collect and store parcels for resident until they are collected

  • Carry out meter reading for residents

  • Initiative to reorganise scheduled tasks in the event of bad weather, staff shortage and traffic problems under supervision and permission of line manager at all times.

  • On site relationships with clients and resident, must be polite, courteous and respectful at all times.


  • Good team skills required to work with colleagues and take instructions from them. Polite and co-operative demeanour necessary to work effectively together.

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as instructed by Environmental Services Supervisor / Environmental Services Delivery Manager

    The ability to communicate effectively with residents, contractors and other stakeholders.

  • Microsoft applications including word, excel and outlook.


  • Desirable
  • Effective negotiation skills, problem solving and ability to resolve issues using own initiative.

  • The ability to work effectively on their own initiative and in teams.

  • A good general standard of education to O level, GCSE or equivalent.

  • SIA Door Supervision

  • SIA CCTV monitoring

  • First Aid at Work or similar
