Concrete Specialist

  • Location: homebased
  • Travel: monthly site visits to the South West
  • Staff/contract option

We're striving to create a multidisciplinary team to offer our clients the best range of talent. Supporting one of our key clients we are seeking an experienced Concrete Specialist. This role is crucial to ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in all concrete works. You will be responsible for evaluating contractor proposals, monitoring compliance, and performing quality control checks in line with the technical specifications. Responsibilities As the Concrete Specialist you will also be responsible for the following:
  • Technical Review: Assess and set baselines for reinforced concrete specifications.
  • Material Qualification: Review and approve contractor proposals on concrete materials, mix designs, and aggregate testing.
  • Suitability & Sensitivity Testing: Validate suitability tests and assess concrete mix sensitivity to batch variations.
  • Thermal Control: Ensure compliance with thermal cracking precautions and temperature monitoring.
  • Quality Control: Conduct periodic reviews on conformity controls and validate Quality Assurance plans.
  • Defect & Methodology Review: Oversee defect remediation processes, pour sequences, and adherence to best practices.
  • Qualification/experience To be considered for the Concrete Specialist role you should have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in concrete specification, compliance assessment, and quality control.
  • Strong ability to interpret and review technical specifications and material qualifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensuring quality and compliance.
