Full Job Description

This is a broad conduct risk role however, for an initial period you will be focusing on the risks associated with launching new or changes to existing products/distribution channels.

You will have overall responsibility for managing some of the Society's product governance policies and frameworks, ensuring stakeholders are engaged in their responsibilities, delivery of monitoring plans and reporting on their effectiveness to drive continuous improvement across the Society.

  • Provide strategic and forward- looking business partnering risk management expertise to ensure teams and colleagues are supported in delivering their risk management responsibilities.

  • Own, develop and embed conduct risk management policies and frameworks to ensure they deliver good customer outcomes and regulatory compliance.

  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk management appetite, policies and frameworks, proactively addressing issues when they arise.

  • Ensure risk reporting and governance frameworks, including control self-assessment, are fit for purpose, understood and embedded to ensure appropriate escalation and control of all risk matters.

  • You will help us to meet our regulatory requirements including the Consumer Duty.

We are looking for a talented person to continue our journey on providing high quality conduct risk management consultancy to ensure that the Society is delivering good outcomes through the products & services that we design and distribute., You will be working closely with leaders across the Society, getting their buy in to looking at how they are managing their conduct risks and challenging them where necessary. Therefore, we are looking for someone who has excellent relationship management skills and who is proactive and confident in having challenging conversations with senior leaders.

  • You must have product governance and product regulations experience, applying risk management principles and practices to identify, assess and mitigate risks.

  • Understanding of Financial Services regulations you need to be aware and understand our products, where the risks are and how you would go about managing those risks with effective frameworks.

  • Understanding of the risks associated with launching and changing products and services.
