As part of this thrilling journey, we're looking for a forward-thinking, energetic Conference and Community Executive to join our team in Twickenham. The Conference and Community Executive plays a vital role in the marketing team for two of our flagship UK events: Packaging Innovations & Empack at the NEC in Birmingham, and London Packaging Week. These event brands serve the UK's packaging community, encompassing the design, development, and manufacturing of FMCG products and packaging. This role focuses on connecting with the community year-round and ensuring we deliver high-quality, engaging content across various formats. The Conference and Community Executive will contribute to the development of audiences for our events and help achieve our broader mission of inspiring innovation and enabling progress within the industry., 1. Develop and nurture relationships with key industry stakeholders: + o Build strong connections with top influencers in the packaging sector, including major retailers and brand owners such as Coca-Cola, Unilever, Nestle, Tesco, and Sainsbury's. 2. Content and event development: + o Collaborate on the design and delivery of event content, including recruiting expert speakers, defining engaging topics and formats, and enhancing event features that address the industry's challenges. 3. Year-round content strategy: + o Support the creation and execution of a multi-channel content strategy to engage the community through newsletters, surveys, webinars, publications, roundtables, social media, and other platforms. 4. Support event audience growth: + o Help drive participation and engagement for events by understanding and addressing audience needs through thoughtful content and communication.

We need someone with a creative approach to content development and the gravitas and charisma to mix it with the most important people in this sector. This role requires someone with:

  • Experience of developing and creating conferences, speaker relations and advisory boards;
  • Great organisation and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Big picture thinking, adaptability and the ability to cope under pressure;
  • Impeccable copywriting and proofing skills;
  • Ability to analyse and understand a wide range of complex issues and express them in simple and engaging language;
  • Confidence and curiosity to talk to a wide range of people - on the phone and face to face - and to understand what makes them tick;
  • Ability to work independently and confidence in your own editorial judgment;
  • Ability to use (or quickly learn) relevant software and systems, such as Microsoft Office, website CMS (we use Wordpress), email marketing platforms, Google Analytics and so on.
