Full Job Description

The events team currently consists of nine people and runs a comprehensive calendar of conferences and events throughout the year across UK/EU and NYC. They are a pivotal part of the Investment Bank and are fully integrated into the business, working closely with colleagues across several business areas including; Sales, Research, Investment Banking. We are looking for an experienced Events/Conference Planner to join the dynamic team. What will you do?

  • Execute a flagship conference inc. - programme curation, corporate invitations, building agenda, venue and supplier management, F&B, entertainment, internal attendee management, investor registrations, communication and marketing material, leading the wider onsite team.
  • Responsible for planning and fully executing allocated UK/EU events and sector conferences (in-person/virtual and hybrid formats)
  • Develop corporates attendees list for conferences and work with internal stakeholders to build the Planning and scheduling 1on1 meetings aspect for conferences
  • Manage key projects, including (but not limited to) - elements of US conferences, employee events, sporting events, arranging tickets/dinners across the bank
  • Vendor management and negotiation including contract management for various suppliers
  • Maintain internal event and related bank systems for the team (Dealogic, ipreo, calendars, contacts etc)
  • Represent Berenberg at various conferences and events
  • Ad hoc tasks and activities that support the continual development of the Events Management team

    Experience planning large international conferences within financial services, preferably another investment bank or investment management firm; including planning and scheduling 1on1 meetings
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride themselves on delivering to a high a standard in a fast paced dynamic environment
  • Efficient and have a self-motivated, proactive mindset to generate and implement new ideas
  • Excellent time management and strong organizational skills - be self motivated, enthusiastic and comfortable in a fast moving and ever changing environment
  • Works in a systematic & methodical way
  • Client focussed approach - Must be comfortable liaising with clients and staff at all levels within the company as well as external providers
  • Makes prompt, clear decisions which may involve considered risks
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Demonstrates financial awareness, understanding of the investment banking landscape, terminology and structure of the sector;
  • Comfortable working autonomously or as part of a team as and when required
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Trustworthy and familiar with dealing with highly confidential information
  • Willing to work flexible hours during conference season, where required
