Magellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Administrator.

  • Full Time Permanent
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm / Friday 7:30am - 1:30pm
  • Job location: Blackpool Business Park, Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool, FY4 2RP
  • Unionised site - works in partnership with Unite the Union.
  • This role is governed by ITAR, restrictions may apply
  • This position exists to support the manufacturing planning creation & amendments in the Engineering department allowing qualified personnel to continue learning through accrued on-the-job training and job experience while performing essential duties for the company. Liaise with other departments is a required component of the position. Essential Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the efficient manufacture of new and existing components through:
  • + the timely creation and maintenance of product definitions with the Bill of Material database giving due regard to economic manufacture, material and subcontract content. + the timely creation and maintenance of shop order routings giving due regard to estimated shop hours and customer quality and schedule requirements. + the creation and maintenance of product definitions within the Bill of Material database.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the overall success of department specific projects through effective and detailed planning reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer and Production Manager.
  • Support any configuration routing requirements raised from contract revie
  • Assist in the collating and monitoring of estimated time v's actual times via cycle time feedback process.
  • Provide support and advice to colleagues with routing queries and changes through the works query note process.
  • Assist the engineering department if required with the electronic data transfer between Magellan, customers and suppliers.
  • As required assist with tasks within the Production Control team.
  • Work in a safe manner complying with all risk assessments and procedures in line with company Health & Safety policy, reporting any health and safety incidents that occur.
  • Actively support and contribute to the continuous improvement programme and lean manufacturing.
  • Any other reasonable duties required by management in support of the business.

    Knowledge of MRP / ERP systems (preferably SAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, excel, MS project with excellent IT, literacy and numeric skills
  • Operational experience within manufacturing environment with good understanding of deadline requirements and customer demand
