Are you a passionate and qualified Social Worker looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and families? Join Wigan Council and be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and ensuring they thrive in safe, stable, and loving environments., As a Connected Carers Social Worker, you will:
- Undertake Connected Carers Assessments, Viability Assessments, and Regulation 24 Assessments.
- Provide ongoing supervision and support to Friends and Family Foster Carers subject to Regulation 24.
- Champion the safety and stability of children, ensuring practice is regulatory compliant and child-focused.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with children, carers, and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with partners, including education services, the NHS, and Start Well teams. This role is vital in ensuring children remain within their family networks where safe, promoting permanence and positive outcomes for children and young people. Why Work with Wigan Council? - Deliver high-quality social work practice, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory standards.
- Embed the Family Safeguarding Model into practice, championing trauma-informed approaches.
- Undertake direct work with children and families, identifying strengths, addressing vulnerabilities, and reducing risks.
- Maintain accurate, jargon-free case records using Liquid Logic.
- Participate in court proceedings and contribute to the development of services for children and families.
A Social Work Qualification (Degree or equivalent). - Registration with Social Work England.
- At least 3 years' experience in children's services.
- A valid driving license and access to your own vehicle.
