Full Job Description

  • To support the Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test team with:

  • + End to End system validation for connected car telematics systems in line with project schedules.
    + Interoperability testing of connected systems
    + Creation of test plans to meet with project and design milestones.
    + Confirming vehicle level quality, function & reliability standards are maintained when changes are implemented.
    + Conducting root cause investigation of complex concerns on vehicles
    + Confirmation of vehicle specification and test parts required for test
    + Using industry standard management systems such as JIRA and TestRail.
    + Technical support and software management for the vehicle manufacturing plant and the vehicle test fleet.
    + Management of suppliers, technicians, and guest engineers

  • Have relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development, completing a minimum of two vehicle developments, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience

  • Be able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions travel may be long distance and for longer periods or at short notice

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.

  • Knowledge of software programming and software quality assurance.

  • Have experience of software application into vehicle ECUs in the manufacturing environment - flashing, coding/configuration, and calibration.

  • Have experience of risk assessing software modifications and develop appropriate test plans.

  • Have experience of validation multiple software versions simultaneously and adapting prioritizing validation activitie

  • Understand network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).

  • Be able to operate CANalyzer, CANoe, Matlab software or similar for capturing data, analysis of data and preparing/executing test procedures.

  • Experience of offboard telematics systems including servers, network providers and commercial software applications

  • Be able to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.

  • Be able to demonstrate and have practical experience in problem solving tools and techniques e.g., Kepner Tregoe / SixSigmBe conversant with digital oscilloscopes, and basic electrical test equipment.
