Full Job Description
There is an exciting opportunity for a consultant paediatrician post with a special interest in Neonates, Endocrine, Haem/Onc or Safeguarding coming up to join the existing team of 13 Consultants.
Applications are invited for three (3) WTE Consultant Paediatricians to join 13 other Acute Paediatricians in the department. The post will be based in the Paediatric Department at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with responsibilities across the Trust.
You should be able to provide acute paediatric emergency and ambulatory care and provide Consultant of the week cover on Paeds and Neonates as well as take on-call in both acute Paediatrics, PAU and Neonatology (level 2). Outpatient activities provides an opportunity to further develop special interest., There is an expectation that you will have an interest, or experience, in Neonates, Endocrine, Haem/Onc or Safeguarding . If the successful candidates do not have the relevant experience, they will be supported to develop this role, which will be included in their job plan.
There will also be an opportunity for the successful candidates to undertake and develop expertise in other areas as per their clinical interest as above.
This post will complement the existing 13 consultants to provide attending and on-call services for General Paediatrics and Level 2 Neonatal Unit., We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients in a compassionate way, and provide a respectful, but vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
