Full Job Description

We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our Infrastructure team on the A428 project in Cambridge. Skanska is delivering a £679 million improvement project on the A428 in Cambridgeshire to bring a new 10-mile dual carriageway between the Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet roundabouts. Working closely with design partner Mott MacDonald, this project builds on Skanska's long-standing and trusted relationship with National Highways. What you'll do:

  • Promote open and honest communicate within your delivery team, with this approach extended through to subcontractors, client representatives and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the delivery team is working to the latest design, and it is fully understood.#
  • Communicate the delivery requirements for the upcoming 3-6 months to your Agents/Sub Agents to allow them to begin detailed planning of the works
  • Challenge to delivery team to develop and deliver a robust short term plan which aligns to the contract programme
  • Review subcontract tender returns to assess alignment of the scope and tendered price
  • Create a culture within the delivery team where quality is promoted, understood and delivered
  • Lead by example and promote IFE and a culture of putting health, safety, wellbeing and environment first.

    Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to diverse audiences.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working on major highways infrastructure schemes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and common construction methodologies.
