Full Job Description

The Leeds team comprises two partners and four other legal advisers covering both non-contentious and contentious matters. Our team provides clients with rapid, concise and efficient legal and commercial advice. We advise on all non-contentious issues affecting the sector. Our exceptional list of clients speaks volumes as it is spread across a multitude of sectors Main responsibilities The successful candidate will be assisting the team with a variety of tasks which will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the legal advisors with various construction matters, with the emphasis on non-contentious work
  • Document production, drafting and amending, tracking and producing agreements
  • Printing and binding final documents or assisting with DocuSign
  • Communicating effectively and confidently with clients
  • Recording time and working towards billing targets set within the team.
  • Provide wider Admin support as and when required
  • Assisting with various other tasks as required.

    The ideal candidate will have prior paralegal experience, ideally working in a busy construction team or similar area.
  • A qualifying law degree or GDL would be preferably but not essential
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external clients
  • Excellent attention to detail taken with all correspondence and documentation
  • Flexible according to client needs, with the ability to adapt to change, new practices and remain calm under pressure
  • Able to integrate within a team as well as working on your own initiative
  • Prepared to get involved in business development, including the attendance at networking and other marketing events
  • Good working knowledge of various applications.
  • Good organisational skills to ensure that the tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available, and that urgent work is completed and returned within the specified timescales.

The team of seven partners and 22 other qualified lawyers, from legal directors to paralegals, helps clients across the industry, including developers, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, public authorities, higher education bodies and funding and letting entities. We advise on development work, major infrastructure projects, remediation contracts and process plant and power generation projects.
