We are looking for a motivated and high-calibre experienced construction project technician to join us at our London (West Thurrock) Site. We're a build from within company, meaning we're looking for those interested in building a career, not just a job with us. As a Construction Project Technician, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Providing technical expertise to all construction and mechanical scope of projects: from design through to commissioning.
- Developing scope and costs for capital projects while supporting the overall project team with larger capital projects.
- Preparing scope of work enquiries and sharing with purchasing for bidding purposes.
- Performing technical analysis on which suppliers to choose in the case of multiple bids.
- Leading and participating in design reviews.
- Managing mechanical construction for projects including writing work permits and ensuring the safe execution of required project work.
- Coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and adherence to project timelines.
- Preparing checklists to confirm quality, functional and operational checks for newly installed equipment.
- Ensuring any post start-up issues are noted down and addressed with urgency. Please note this is a day-based, rather than a shift-based role, you'll generally work 40 hours per week, however, there will be occasions when working outside of these hours will be required.
- Experience of managing construction-related projects in a Process/FMCG environment.
- Excellent project-planning, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Adaptability and resilience coupled with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
- Engineering-related degree or NVQ qualification in engineering.
- Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) or Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Understanding of European/UK welding standards required for fabrication and construction purposes (ASME & NBIC). At P&G #weseeequal
