Full Job Description

As a Consultant in our Corporate Tax team, you will have ample opportunity to broaden your experience and knowledge across the wider business tax area.

Your role will be truly varied involving a range of complex tax advisory projects and tax compliance and reporting work. This means you will have the opportunity to enhance your generalist technical skills and knowledge.

Our group of about 60 tax practitioners focuses on international groups involved in oil and gas production, mining, power generation, renewable energy and commodity trading, as well as a variety of other major corporate clients working in a range of industries on a truly global basis.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering complex cross border tax advice

  • Tax accounting and tax audit support work

  • Corporate transaction support

  • Dealing with HM Revenue and Customs on technical matters

  • Tax compliance

  • Working closely with our transfer pricing and VAT technical specialists

  • Support with maintaining and building client relationships

  • Supporting the development of junior staff

    Either part or fully ACA/CTA qualified, or equivalent.

  • Experience of advising clients on UK Corporate Tax issues.

  • Exposure to international tax issues and M&A tax projects is preferred but not essential.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as sound written and oral skills.

  • Experience of assisting in developing and maintaining client relationships.

  • Having a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when working in diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive culture.

  • The ability to exercise judgement and apply commercial thinking in making client recommendations.

    Personal independence

    Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships).
