Full Job Description

The successful applicant will support the breast multidisciplinary team in breast symptomatic and assessment clinics, cross sectional imaging and oncology cases.
The successful applicant will be supported by a dedicated clinical and managerial team including the Breast Screening Programme Manager, Advanced Practitioners and 2 Consultant Radiographers.
As part of the Director of Breast Screening role the post holder will represent the service in Screening Quality Assurance meetings, formal QA reviews, and Programme Management Board meetings to review performance.
The purpose-built integrated breast care unit provides both breast screening and symptomatic breast imaging services. The unit has a breast screening population in excess of 55,000 women and we consistently achieve NHSBSP key performance indicators.
We currently have 4 Onco-plastic Breast Surgeons and perform seven 2 week wait symptomatic referral clinics per week.

New employees who do not join the update service will be required to pay £50 for a new DBS check in 3 years time.

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic, experienced Breast Radiologist to join our active team at Kettering General Hospital. The post also includes the role of Director of Breast Screening. The successful candidate will deliver clinical leadership to the radiographic team and support the breast multidisciplinary team in cross sectional imaging and oncology cases.

We routinely perform 10G and 7G vacuum assisted biopsies as first line diagnostics and 7G vacuum assisted excisions with a Bard Enspire vacuum biopsy system and a Mammotome system.
In collaboration with the Consultant Radiographers and Advanced Practitioner Radiographers the successful candidate will undertake approximately 6 wire localisation or magseed insertions per week.
We perform Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography as part of the pre-operative planning and surveillance pathways and have the facility for CESM biopsy.
We perform approximately 300 Breast MRIs per year, which are all double reported by the consultant radiologist and consultant radiographer team.
The unit has 2 ultrasound suites equipped with GE Logiq ultrasound scanners.
There is a Kubtec Mozart 3D specimen imaging system in breast theatres and a Trueview core system in the breast imaging unit.
We have separate radiology team of 22 radiologists who run variety of services to include acute imaging, cancer imaging and other specialist services.
The Imaging service is supported by a GE PACS and is part of the EMRAD consortium.
