Full Job Description

  • The post holder will be based at Royal Preston Hospital, although some sessionsmayhave to be performed at Chorley depending on the needs of the trust.
  • Appropriatetravelling allowances will be paid.
  • The departments of cardiologyacross bothPreston andChorley Hospital arecloselyintegrated.
  • The post holder will initially be appointed for 10 programmedactivities(PA)
  • The post holder will be on call for temporary pacing andpericardiocentesison a 1 to 6 rota in line with the national requirements.
  • The Trust will be movingforward to a7-day servicesin due course. The post holder should expect toparticipatein a 7-day service whenthiscomesinto place. This will be agreedseparatelywhen the need arises.
  • The Trust will be moving forward to a 7-day servicein due course. The post holder should expect to take part in a 7-day servicewhen this is implemented.This will be agreed separately when the need arises.
    • TheDepartment ofCardiology sitswithin theDivision ofEmergency andGeneralMedicine. This consists ofAcuteMedicine, Cardiology, Respiratory, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Stroke and Medicine for the Elderly.These units are very well developed, and there is a close link with aTertiaryDivision ofRenalMedicine andNeurology.
