Full Job Description

This post is within the Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust (OUH) psycho-oncology service. The post holder will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering a level 2 training programme alongside training partners. The post holder will be required to work alongside the existing clinicians (consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, care managers and SMS assistants) within the psycho-oncology service and the leads for the various specialities including the lead cancer nurse, heads of radiotherapy and pharmacy within the Oxford Cancer Centre. It is also expected that they will help develop policy and organize R&D activities.

Communication of complex issues and training of highly skilled professionals in advanced communication skills is an important part of this role. The candidate will be helping other professionals communicate highly complex condition related information to patients, who may be manipulative and hostile.,

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or a statement of equivalency in Clinical Psychology awarded by the BPS.
  • Full HCPC registration and license to practice as a clinical psychologist.
  • Experience working in a clinical health psychology setting
  • Track record of service development and collaboration with colleagues from other highly specialized services
  • Desirable criteria
  • Relevant post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialized areas of psychological practice.
  • Experience of developing and evaluating psychological training programmes, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
