Full Job Description

This is an exciting time as CYPMHS in Leeds undergoes a redesign. You will bring excellent leadership, enthusiasm & strategic skills to help solve challenges & shape the future of the service. You will be welcoming, with a positive approach to seeing children & young people with a range of presentations within our core and LD service. You will hold a caseload, support new assessments & reviews. You will be a motivated & reliable colleague, committed to developing as a team & will provide clinical leadership & support for local & whole service MDTs. The post is for 10 sessions p/w. We encourage those wishing to work part-time or in a job share to apply. There are on call responsibilities with this post. You will have an identified base but will be expected to work across the city. Good communication skills are essential. Previous knowledge of healthcare systems would be beneficial although training will be provided. You will work with GMC guidance for working in multi-agency
& multi-disciplinary teams & will be expected to work flexibly to meet service need. The ability to travel is essential along with a flexible & adaptable attitude to your daily work & emerging priorities. You will have the opportunity to be active in postgraduate teaching & develop appropriate research interests & applicants must be on the Specialist Register. For further information please contact Dr Jon Barrett, Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist or Sara Clarke, HoS., Main duties of the job Provide strategic direction & professional clinical leadership to the service Deliver high quality direct clinical care to diverse communities across the city ensuring the smoothest journey possible for our service users Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping in a contemporaneous manner in accordance with Trust policies Support effective & collaborative clinical & operational decision making Work with managers & colleagues to ensure smooth & efficient running of services at all times Actively participate in local and service wide meetings and engagement forums Share with Consultant colleagues in the provision of medical contribution to management Support, lead & provide input to service development through a quality improvement lens Manage, appraise & provide professional supervision to junior medical staff as agreed Participate in, comply with and support Trust and service policies and procedures, highlighting and
escalating concerns where appropriate Carry out Mental Health Act and Responsible Clinician duties as required Provide specialist prescribing knowledge, working collaboratively with other colleagues and prescribers to support complex and risky young people in the service Attend system meetings as required in person or using available technology Provide consultant input into our Learning Disability Team Please review the Job Description and Person Specification attached for full requirements of the role.
