Full Job Description

We are interested in Consultant Dermatologists with general skills and experience who may also like to develop a sub speciality interest that compliments those of the current team. Patch Test Lead and skin cancer would be examples. Other areas of further development for the department are:

  • 2WW and urgent suspected skin cancer clinics. Over 70% of our work load is due to skin cancer referrals. This is due to the high rate of skin cancer we experience in Herefordshire and Powys.
  • Teledermatology
  • Community dermatology clinics - increased integration with local GPs aiming to reduce referrals and increase community dermatology knowledge and skills. Many GPs in the area are very proactive regarding dermatology and have post graduate qualifications from Cardiff.
  • Ongoing training and support for our inflammatory and skin cancer nurse specialists
  • Training and Education - We wish to develop our teaching programmes to GPs, GPVTS, CMT doctors, and medical students.
  • If you are seeking personal development opportunities, whether it be clinical, managerial, sub-specialty, medical education or simply a better work life balance, we can support you. With full and part time job plans available which will include dedicated PA's in specific subspecialty interests we'd be more than happy to discuss your needs. Candidates are encouraged to visit/contact the Department and discuss the post with prospective colleagues.
