Full Job Description

We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated team.

Based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle City Centre, this role is a substantive full time job with on-call, but we are happy to consider applicants wishing to work less than full time with a pro rata share of the on-call.

In addition to the challenges of the role, we can offer you a commitment to teaching, education, research and audit.

Candidates for the post must be registered medical practitioners and on, or eligible to join, the Specialist Register within six months of the date of the Appointments Committee.

As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you., This post is based at the Neurosciences Centre. The post-holder will contribute to the daytime diagnostic neuroradiology service and take a share of the diagnostic neuroradiology on call rota. To cover the needs of the service, a subspecialist interest in neuro-oncology and/or low pressure imaging and intervention is desirable.

The appointee will have the chance to participate in teaching and supervision of the radiology and neuroradiology trainees.

The appointee will be expected to undertake administrative duties in relation to the care of his/her patients and in relation to the running of the Department of Neuroradiology in co-operation with the Heads of Department, Specialty Manager and Clinical Director.

The department provides out-of-hours on-call service and in-hours attending service to provide urgent reports and opinions.
