The Adult Forensic Service at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has an existing opportunity for two Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists to be a crucial part in helping drive improvements to our patients' experiences and in helping contribute to the development of our new model of care.
These substantive posts are within our male medium secure and womens blended services at The Edenfield Centre.
While our new model of care is under development, and definitive medical job planning is under review, it is anticipated that the post holders will be the Responsible Clinician for 12 - 16 male inpatients or 10 - 12 female inpatients, following their caseload from admission to discharge., This is an exciting time to join us as a Consultant (Forensic) Psychiatrist. This opportunity could be for a full-time post within either our womens blended secure service (WBS) or our male medium secure service. Either role would allow ta successful candidate to contribute to the development of our new model of care and to shape the future of secure services for women and men from Greater Manchester.
You will be supported by a full and expanding complement of multidisciplinary colleagues, with the current position being that you will work with a medical secretary, junior doctor(s), clinical psychologist, social worker, occupational therapist, and our nursing colleagues. To support our service user's physical health, there is additionally a visiting GP, dentist and well-established physical health team.
Alongside inpatient management, additional clinical activities include on-call work, access assessments to the service, and a range of additional activities dependent on negotiation with consultant colleagues and our new model of care., We are aspiring to ensure our workforce is representative of the diverse communities that we serve, and we are strongly committed to removing barriers to employment for candidates from under-represented groups, for example BAME, Disabled and LGBT+ communities.
