Full Job Description

We are an organisation that places importance and pride on being clinically led and prioritise developing clinical leaders. The Trust is currently organised into 3 Divisions: one of which being the Medicine Division. The Service for Medicine consists of consultants and teams at Eastbourne District General Hospital and Conquest Hospital.
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Medicine at East Sussex Healthcare Trust (ESHT). We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed colleague who has the passion to develop and provide high quality services for the local population. These posts will be based at Conquest Hospital and Eastbourne District General Hospital, (EDGH).
The successful applicant will be an accredited physician with a speciality interest. Applicants must have full GMC registration and be within 6 months of gaining CCT at time of interview or on the Specialist Register.
There are 2 ½ dedicated medical wards at both Conquest Hospital and Eastbourne District General Hospital, these are supported by the medical teams with consultant ward rounds and daily MDT board rounds to support discharge.

+ Acute stroke services , with regular TIA clinics cross site
+ Rheumatology
+ Diabetes Medicine
+ Cardiology
+ Gastroenterology
+ Respiratory Medicine
+ Oncology
+ Haematology
+ Dermatology, Acute Medicine
-Management of admissions
-Management of medical complications
-Excelling in communication skills with MDT members, patients, and their families
-Leading care planning and best-interest meetings
Outpatient:
-Clinics and associated admin
-IP Follow up reviews

Applicants should be a holder of Certificate of Completion of Training or be within six months of the award of CCT by the date of the interview or the equivalent (CESR) which is at the time of applying, on the GMC Specialist Register.
