Consultant Geriatrician

The successful candidate will join the existing team in delivering geriatric medicine inpatient and outpatient work in theBradford, Airedale, Wharfedale, Cravenand East Lancashire area.

The elderly team offer acute frailty support, comprehensive geriatric assessment, and FEP. The service also includes in-reach into rehabilitation beds based in one of our district general hospitals.

With access to radiology, pathology, diagnostic testing, the team provide a truly comprehensive service to our inpatients and outpatients., The team look after 3 elderly care wards and provide liaison service to orthopaedics and the acute admission ward. The service also includes in-reach into 10 rehabilitation beds based in one of our district general hospitals, dedicated MDT outpatient clinics and community sessions.

With access to radiology, pathology, diagnostic testing, the team provide a truly comprehensive service to our inpatients and outpatients.

Airedale is ambitious about its future and has already established an excellent reputation for innovative developments for example providing telemedicine to a number of prisons and nursing homes. We fully recognise the range and diversity of the increasing demands, expectations and challenges over the next few years, that requires a significant shift in emphasis away from episodic care to population based health, with partners coming together to meet our local population's health and social care needs.
