Full Job Description

This is a replacement post. The remit of the postholder will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients with lymphoid malignancies and to provide and develop the relevant services to the Trust's patients. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff., The post will be based at the Princess Royal University Hospital and the proposed Job Plan (10 PAs) is attached. This is subject to review within 3 months of the postholder commencing in post.

The On-Call commitment is for a 1:4 rota, which is classed as Category A. There is a commitment to undertake routine job planned work on Saturdays or Sundays as part of the total job planned PAs.

The appointee will work as part of the Haemato-oncology team at the PRUH. Broad knowledge of the field is required as the successful candidate will be part of the ward attending rota. The post holder will also be reporting blood films requiring senior input (reporting rota: 1:5) and bone marrow aspirates. In addition, the post holder is expected to be familiar with the Trust's anticoagulation and Thrombosis guidelines and able to handle relevant emergencies as part of the on-call rota.

The purpose of the job is to provide service of the highest quality to Haemato-oncology in general, but with emphasis on lymphoid malignancies.
