Full Job Description

reputation across social research and economic
development. The projects we deliver are diverse
in size and scale. They fall into three main
categories:

  • Evaluation: we tailor our evaluation

  • methodologies to ensure they answer the
questions that clients are interested in.
We present findings in a way that can help
articulate a policy or project's successes
and provide support at every step to help
    ensure high-quality evaluation outcomes.
  • Social research: we explore issues in

  • greater depth and work with more
    marginalised and hard-to-reach groups.
  • Economic and social analysis: we go

  • beyond simply articulating jobs and
    economic value. Our tailored approach
allows clients to understand their overall
    social, economic, and environmental
    contributions to their local community,
the economy, and the rest of society.

Our clients range from central and local
government to funders, charities and private
    sector organisations. This includes Central
    Government Departments, the Scottish
    Government, the Welsh Government, Combined
and Local Authorities, The National Lottery
Community Fund and Heritage Fund, the Mayor, "As a Senior Consultant, I tend to take a leading
role in project design and delivery. This means
that at any given time, I am likely to take on
different roles from project manager to lead
client contact for a diverse portfolio of projects.
As a result, my day-to-day is varied. Typically, it
can include client engagements and meetings. I
can lead research design and coordinate actions
across the project delivery team. All staff are
involved with project delivery, so this means I
might carry out interviews or focus groups as part
of a project or undertake analysis to produce a
project report. In addition to my core job role, I
am also the line manager for a Research
Consultant, and work with them to manage their
workload and support them to develop.

We have a collaborative approach to tendering
    which involves collective agreement on
prospective projects we are interested in working
on. We have a back-office team who support us
in the administration of tenders submitted, this
allows our consultant team to focus on
developing our approach. Depending on the brief
I will work in collaboration with colleagues to
contribute to a bid or as lead bid writer. I enjoy

of Wavehill and directly benefit from our
    collective success.

meeting. We have just commenced delivery for a
    large-scale national programme evaluation, and
me and the Project Director are reporting back on

emerged from discussions with the client team.
The team brings together four members of staff
who are all responsible for delivering different
workstreams as part of the project.

upcoming qualitative fieldwork for a project.

the upcoming tasks needed for an approaching
    project milestone.

Later, I have a meeting with my project team. We
catch up on how things have been going. We
discuss their upcoming tasks and any support
    they require.

We have a flexible approach to working, so when
I'm working from home, I head out for a run at
    lunchtime.

In the afternoon, I have an interview with an
individual who has been involved in delivering
activities as part of a project we are evaluating.
This is one of the bits of the role I enjoy the most,
as it's an opportunity to hear directly about
