We have a strong Virtual Ward set-up allowing patients to be cared for at home whilst receiving daily reviews, monitoring, investigations and treatments that would previously only be available as an inpatient. The Trust has an electronic patient record (EPIC), a multi-million-pound research facility, a significant development budget and big plans for the future. More detail about the role Newly formed in April 2022 by bringing together the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, our combined acute medicine units provide assessment and urgent treatment to a population of 615,000 and our specialist services to a wider population across the South West Peninsula. We are looking for Consultant colleagues to join our team in Acute Medicine in North Devon, joining a team of forward-thinking doctors in a dynamic Trust, able to effect changes in our service and make a real difference to the welfare of our patients. NDDH has an Acute Medicine Unit (AMU) of 28 beds and a newly developed Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) area. SDEC is our way of innovating care, where we offer rapid access to diagnostics and procedures. Suitable patients are diagnosed and managed by experienced Middle Grade Doctors and fully supported by, infrastructure and quality of life.
