Full Job Description
The successful candidate will be joining our dynamic and forward thinking team of Acute Physicians all with a range of supporting interests. There are significant opportunities for candidates to pursue their interest in areas which will enhance the Unit and the Individual.
Our team currently hold leadership positions throughout the organisation including; GIRFT lead, Clinical Directors for Quality Improvement, for Clinical Effectiveness, for Mortality as well as positions in Education including Foundation Programme Director and Associate International Director for International Medical Graduates for the Royal College of Physicians. Colleagues are also currently involved in NICE Guideline Committee work.
We work alongside Elderly Medicine colleagues as well as with a team of junior doctors, clinical fellows, ACPs, pharmacists, therapists and an excellent team of dynamic nursing staff.
We have pioneered the development of Acute Medicine services including an embedded Acute Frailty Zone, a Virtual Ward using Salford's advanced and well developed Electronic Patient Record, Ambulatory Emergency Care as well as close collaboration with our nearby Emergency Department colleagues. We are currently optimising a Same Day Emergency Care service., The post offers a 1 WTE job plan at consultant level, based at Salford Royal Hospital. The post-holder will be entitled to patient administrative time and core SPA within their job plan. The job plan will be agreed with the successful post holder and will be in line with BMA guidelines.
