Full Job Description

Join the team at Ty Einon Centre as a Consultant Psychiatrist as we develop services within the Eating Disorder Service. You will be joining a very experienced, multi-disciplinary team of nurses, psychotherapists, psychologists, dietitians, occupational therapists and medical staff. Although, you will be part of the Adult Eating Disorder Team, you will work closely with colleagues in Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Adult Primary and Adult Community Mental Health Teams to ensure that individuals experience a seamless and co-ordinated approach to their care. Interested individuals will also be enthusiastic, motivated and committed to driving forwards the continued development of the Specialist Eating Disorder Service. You will have overall clinical responsibility for the management of this client group overseeing the Care and Treatment Plans, delegating responsibility and working with the multidisciplinary team. Accepting this role would see you join this experienced Mental Health community service to provide care for adults with eating disorders. You will focus on early intervention and equipping people with the appropriate skills for community living. You'll have access to excellent CPD with our own medical education centre based on the Cefn Coed Hospital site in Swansea as well as an education centre in Neath Port Talbot Hospital. There is also a vibrant academic programme, plus access to a large peer group of enthusiastic and high-calibre consultants.

  • Be medically qualified, MRC Psych or equivalent
  • Be innovative and imaginative with the ability to initiate service improvement
  • Have an excellent understanding of current developments in psychiatry and other aspects of mental health
  • Have substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, contemporary issues in mental health, knowledge of and experience in purchaser/provider contractual issues, Registered with the GMC
  • Licensed to practice
  • On Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in psychiatry or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview and have passed exit exam or a statement of eligibility for registration issued by PMETB or a primary medical qualification and recognized specialist qualification from a European Member State which will allow direct entry to the GMC Specialist Register
  • Desirable
