Full Job Description
- You willparticipatein a 1:8 Consultant of the week model, including prospective cover covering Obstetrics and emergency theatres.
- You will join a team of 8 Consultants with several SpecialistsandSpecialty Doctorssupporting all general services of the hospital including a busy Accident and Emergency department, Theatres covering maternity, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic and trauma,ophthalmologyand ENT.
- On-call shifts provide non-residential cover of Obstetrics and emergency theatres, supervising adedicated resident anaesthetist.
- Lead Assessments of the deteriorating patient for emergency admission to the Intensive Care Unit.
- Lead the team in managing pre and post operative theatre admissions.
- Participate in clinical audit,governanceand quality improvement.
- Demonstrate evidence-based practice whereappropriate.
- Undertake andparticipatein the appraisal process and job planning.
- Satisfy the criteria for revalidation.
- Contribute to service development in areas of special interest andexpertise.
- Activelyparticipatein continuing medical education.
- Undertake personal appraisal and job-planning as part of revalidation.
- Maintain all mandatory training requirements.
