Full Job Description
We are looking for an individual with excellent leadership skills who is innovative, enthusiastic and most essentially, able to work integrally with the ward team and collaborate with numerous stakeholders. A commitment to personal, team and service development is essential. This post presents a wonderful opportunity for exposure to a wide range of clinical presentations resulting in genuinely interesting and rewarding clinical practice for senior staff and excellent experience for a newly qualified consultant.
We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach with other providers within the borough and we are proud of our recent staff survey results which showed an improvement in motivation and satisfaction levels of our staff., + Acting as Responsible Clinician for patients on community orders, including preparing reports for and attending Hospital Managers' and Mental Health Review Tribunal hearings
+ Participating in clinical and business meetings of the multidisciplinary team
+ Participating in team learning / development events
+ Assessing new referrals with other MDT members
+ Providing phone advice for clinical staff
+ Being available for emergency and home visits at short notice, and participating as necessary in Mental Health Act assessments. This will include participating in the Section 12 rota
+ Teaching and training staff, especially junior doctors and medical students, but also other clinical staff and trainees of all discipline
+ Providing supervision to Junior Doctors: the team includes one CT1-3 trainee and one Specialty doctor. Supervisory roles and responsibilities are agreed in conjunction with Consultant colleagues in Hillingdon
+ Providing supervision as required for the clinical work of the trainees within the team
+ Providing support and advice to colleagues of different professional backgrounds as required
+ Attending the local consultants meeting
+ Attending the borough fortnightly Community Care Pathway meetings
+ Attending the borough monthly Care Quality meetings
+ Attending weekly bed management meetings

We are seeking applications for a full time Consultant Psychiatrist in our Adult CMHT in Hayes.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated consultant or newly qualified trainee to provide clinical and strategic leadership to a well functioning CMHT. Community Mental Health Services are in the midst of a transformation and thus presents a wonderful opportunity for a motivated individual to lead and drive these changes.
The candidate should be on GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview.
CNWL has built on excellent links with Brunel University, successful candidate will have the option to take up an extra 1PA as an educational post.
