This is an exciting time to join the Acute Medicine and Medicine Specialties Teams at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. The aspirations for our patient focused services are bold. We are a forward thinking team that prides itself on providing high quality clinical care. We aim to have a true 7 day service and, to realise that aim, we are increasing our consultant physician workforce by 50% over the next 2 years. We will also significantly expand our junior doctor support.

As part of the expansion, we are looking for dynamic and motivated Consultant Gastroenterologists to join our friendly and enthusiastic gastroenterology team at the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT).

This is an opportunity to join a highly motivated gastroenterology team in providing a comprehensive service of the highest quality. The service is looking to expand its sub speciality interests in ERCP/EUS, nutrition, IBD and Liver disease; however, we would welcome interest from candidates with interest in any sub speciality areas of Gastroenterology and Hepatology., The basic contract is for 10 programmed activities (PAs), with elective outpatient work, endoscopy, and inpatient care.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

£105,504 to £139,882 a year YC72 Pay Scale per annum pro rata
