Full Job Description
The post holder will be responsible for managing patients undergoing gynaecology malignancies requiring systemic anti cancer therapies which will involve MDT attendance, seeing new patients, managing treatment plans and follow up. This role will include a weekly gynae oncology ward round to include all gynae inpatients at VCC.
Acute Oncology Service
The post-holder will support the Acute Oncology service at Velindre Cancer Centre, including leading the post-take ward round, supporting the multidisciplinary teams managing acutely unwell patients presenting to Velindre. This will entail one morning session, reviewing admitted and unwell patients on the ward, and providing timely senior review for unwell patients on the Acute Assessment Unit and Ambulatory Areas., The duties described here will be the subject of a 6 month review and gives an idea of the work programme involved

This job plan is compliant with the National Job Planning in Wales Guidance 2004 and under that guidance, is subject to review once a year. For this purpose you and the Clinical Director should have a copy of the current job plan including up to date work programme, and relevant statistical information (preferably over a 12 month period) together with notes provided by either side of any new or proposed service or other developments.
Local procedures must be followed if it is not possible to agree a job plan, either initially or at an annual review. These procedures culminate in an appeal to the Trust Board.
You will be required to undertake Medical Revalidation every five years and to ensure General Medical Council (GMC) confirms the continuation of your licence to practice in the UK.
