Full Job Description

The post holder will work closely with Specialists in Paediatric Dentistry and Consultant and Specialists in Special Care Dentistry within the Services to ensure that the most vulnerable individuals receive a seamless service from childhood through to adulthood. The post is based in Nottinghamshire, however, the postholder will be expected to contribute and support other CDS-CIC Community Dental Services at times. You will provide a full range of oral care to adolescents and children with learning difficulties, complex medical problems, severe behavioural problems and using a full range of techniques including behavioural management, inhalation sedation, and general anaesthetic where appropriate and will deliver the highest quality clinical care. You will play a key role in the clinical supervision and training of Community dentists, dental core trainees, specialist trainees and postgraduates. The postholder should demonstrate a high quality approach to patient management. As the postholder will be an integral part of the Nottinghamshire team, the ability to lead and work as a team member is essential.

Community Dental Services CIC are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Consultant who identifies with our values as a Social Enterprise and is passionate about providing care for those most at need and who can provide clinical leadership in paediatric dentistry and a specialist referral service for paediatric patients who meet our service criteria., The post holder must be registered and maintain registration as a dental practitioner with the General Dental Council and should be on the GDC Specialist list in Paediatric Dentistry and have successfully completed a SAC approved 2 year Fixed Term Training Appointment in Paediatric Dentistry (eligible if completion within 6 months of the date of the interview) or equivalent training which follows on from a pre-CCST training period of 3 years or equivalent. Candidates will have an active NHS Primary Dental Care Performer Number. Community Dental Services encourages postgraduate education and development.
