Full Job Description

Applicants should have a full training in General Paediatrics and Metabolic Medicine. They must be fully registered with the GMC and hold License to Practice, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage.

  • We are looking for dynamic individuals who will work with the team to develop services within the unit and the wider network.
  • Clinical duties include an oncall rota covering acute inpatient services for IMD patients and referrals from wide range of paediatric specialty services within the Evelina, four partner newborn screening laboratories and from the wider network.
  • Outpatient work includes general metabolic clinic and sub-specialty clinics. Sub-specialty clinics include Phenylketonuria, Lipid, Glycogen Storage Disorders, Galactosaemia and Neurometabolic clinics and an opportunity for a successful candidate to develop their own specialty clinic.
  • The successful applicants will also be expected to be active in non-clinical roles within the department that include education, governance and research., The Paediatric IMD team is a friendly and hardworking team that comprising of clinicians, dietitians, clinical nurse specialties and clinical scientists working closely together in a multidisciplinary environment. Our clinical science colleagues provide services from the WellChild research laboratory, IMD laboratory, Enzyme laboratory as well as 4 partner newborn screening laboratories.
