Click on this link to find out about our values https : / / www.uhbw.nhs.uk / p / about-us / our-trust-values Paediatric Gastro-Intestinal Investigations Specialist Practitioner Band 7 Part time - 17 hours per week As the gastro-intestinal investigations practitioner you will be expected to coordinate the provision of this service throughout the children's directorate, assessing and supervising the needs of children undergoing procedures and the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate programmes of care. You will be expected to act as a role model and work with the multidisciplinary team within the directorate ensuring that a high standard of holistic care is maintained for all patients and their families. The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC) provides a local service for Bristol Children and a referral service for specialist care for families across the Southwest.

  • Act as a resource of specialist knowledge and expertise in order to ensure optimum and appropriate care delivery to children and their families.
  • To participate in and encourage effective multi-disciplinary team working in order to provide a high quality service.
  • Help promote an environment conducive to the needs of patients their relatives and friends.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, carers and other members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • To delegate appropriately the responsibility for patient care and surveillance during investigations.
  • To ensure accurate documentation is provided in patient records of the care and investigations undertaken.
  • Undertake all appropriate aspects of care required within the speciality - including advanced clinical skills having gained the appropriate training and instruction.
  • To provide specialist advice and support to patients, their families and carers from the time of referral and throughout investigations.
  • To be involved and support the development, improvement, management and promotion of the service ensuring the delivery of high quality, cost effective care.
  • To be involved and support the development, implementation and monitoring of adherence to relevant clinical guideline., To educate and share expertise with the multidisciplinary team
  • To act as a resource in the care of patients with specialist care needs, ensuring an optimum level of service to patients and their carers.
  • To work closely with community and or network teams, other hospital and community staff to ensure an effective seamless service
