Full Job Description

We are looking for a Consultant Neonatologist within the consultant team, which is part of the Perinatal Division of The Northern Care Alliance.
The post is based at the Royal Oldham Hospital (TROH). The post has 10 programmed activities and is in accordance with the 2003 Consultant Contract Terms and Conditions.
Candidates who are unable, for personal reasons, to work full time are eligible to apply and, if successful, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis in consultation with consultant colleagues., This post is 10 weekly Professional Activities (PAs) and all the post holder's clinical sessions will be dedicated to neonatal medicine.
The post holder will be the attending consultant for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) one week in ten. During that week he/she will provide continuity of daytime clinical care and supervision of junior medical staff, including hands-on clinical support as necessary. He/she will also attend Special Care one week in ten.
The indicative job plan attached includes resident consultant duties (Tier 3) of up to 3.2 PAs per week. All resident duties will be undertaken on the neonatal unit and there are no general paediatric responsibilities.
In other weeks, clinical commitments include participation in multidisciplinary clinical forums, grand rounds, and follow up clinics. An average of 2 PAs weekly are allotted for continuous professional development (CPD), educational supervision, and other relevant admin and management activities., As a large NHS trust we are committed to enhancing the health of our local population by delivering consistently high standards of care and working closely with local authorities and key partners.
