Full Job Description

This is a substantive consultant nephrologist post with a predominant focus on haemodialysis and CKD/general nephrology. The post includes general nephrology clinics at Denmark Hill and QEH sites. The post holder will also have an important role in the service transformation project covering our CKD and general nephrology outpatient services.

In addition they will be part of our haemodialysis team leading the medical care of a cohort of haemodialysis patients at the Thamesmead HD unit.

The post holder will contribute to acute renal care contributing to the inpatient renal ward care at Kings, Denmark Hill and also consult/referrals work at KCH and at QEH.

The postholder will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group including having a commitment to teaching and training of junior staff.

Main duties of the job

The post will be primarily based at King's College Hospital, Denmark Hill site, with off mainsite clinical activities at the the Thamesmead Dialysis Unit and Queen Elizabeth Hospital renal clinic (Woolwich).

The proposed Job Plan (10 PAs) is attached. This is subject to review within 3 months of the postholder commencing in post.

The On-Call commitment is classed as Category A (3%), 1 in 13. There is a commitment to undertake routine job planned work on Saturdays or Sundays as part of the total job planned PAs. The on call rota is currently under review and provision may change.

£105,504 to £139,882 a year per annum including London Zone Allowance
